Filou Lane Pony Stud is aiming to breed quality Australian and Riding Ponies that can be used for a wide variety of roles from Pony Club to the Show Ring. One area we will not comprise is the temperament – all ponies must be suitable for children.
Filou Lane Pony Stud was started by Filipa and Richard Marshall in 2002 with the purchase of an Australian pony mare, Fairlight Acres Promise. Since purchasing Promise, we have added two stallions, Fairlight Acres Play Toy and Fairlight Acres Aristocrat. We have also slowly built up up broodmares ensuring they leave quiet and sensible foals suitable for children to ride.
In mid 2011, we have decided to take a different path with the purchase of a number of up-to-height Riding Ponies.
We are very excited to announce the arrival of Kamilaroi Celebrity Showcase, Kamilaroi Fantasia and Kamilaroi Silhouette as well as Kirreway Barbados. These ponies have been purchased from Judy and Malcolm Field in Northern NSW. The three Kamilaroi ponies are all by the champion riding pony stallion, Mandaley Bell Boy who needs no introduction. Barbados also has a filly foal at foot by Kirreway Windsong.

The past twelve months have seen us concentrating on the showing of Filou Lane Limited Edition - a 4yo Australian Pony stallion. Teddy has the most fabulous temperament with my 7yo daughter riding him at home. He competed at Geelong Royal for Reserve Champion Led and Reserve Champion Ridden in torrential rain. He competed at 2011 Dressage with the Stars. Whilst he didn't score well in his trot (he is a bit of a princess about heavy sand) he was one of the best behaved and certainly nicest looking ponies there. A month later we headed up to Sydney to the Royal where he was second in the Led Australian Stallion and Ridden Australian Stallion. He was 4th in the Led Part Welsh Stallion and 3rd in the Ridden Part Welsh Stallion. Due to the disappointing direction that the Australian Pony is taking, Teddy has now been retired and will be bred to some Riding Pony mares.
